The inclusion of a built-in stylus continues to be one of the device's most appealing features. Whether it's jotting down notes or making a grocery list, the S Pen provides a convenient and sophisticated way to interact with the device. Overall, while the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra may come with a hefty price tag, its impressive display, exceptional camera system, and convenient stylus functionality make it a compelling option for those in search of a high-end smartphone experience.

While some of the AI features on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra are undeniably impressive, such as live translation for phone calls and voice recording summaries, others offer a fun and enjoyable experience, like turning any video into slow motion. However, it's worth noting that while these features often deliver delightful results, they may not always be perfect.

On the downside, the battery performance of the S24 Ultra is merely satisfactory, and the new flat-screen design, while appreciated, has some sharp corners that can feel uncomfortable when held. Moreover, the steep price tag of the Ultra, starting at $1,299, represents a $100 increase from last year's model. While Samsung's flagship device remains the most feature-packed phone on the market, the question arises whether the incremental improvements justify the higher price tag, particularly considering that the AI features will eventually be available on the S23 series through a software update.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra takes a significant step forward by introducing a new anti-glare coating that effectively reduces reflections.

Following in Apple's footsteps, Samsung has introduced a feature to dim the wallpaper on the always-on display, accompanied by the option to add widgets that continue to display even when the phone is locked. While reminiscent of Apple's approach, this addition is welcomed by those who value quick access to information.

However, the always-on display feature appears to have a noticeable impact on battery performance. Diagnostics revealed that it accounted for approximately 7 percent of daily battery usage. While the overall battery life of the S24 Ultra is decent, it falls short of exceptional. Light usage resulted in around 50 percent battery remaining at bedtime, while heavier usage with approximately five hours of screen-on time left the battery at 30 percent by the end of the day.

Despite these limitations, many users will find the S24 Ultra capable of lasting a full day on a single charge. Nevertheless, it's essential to note that battery performance may degrade over time, particularly for power users who may require an afternoon recharge to alleviate late-day battery anxiety.

The device offers 45W wired and 15W wireless Qi charging options, although the absence of Qi2 compatibility is disappointing. Those seeking the convenience of MagSafe charging will need to invest in a third-party magnet case and a MagSafe-compatible charger, albeit with caution regarding the use of the stylus with magnetic accessories attached.
